Welcome Spring!

Spring has sprung and you know what that means?

Florals!

Okay, realistically I wear florals any chance I get, but I'm particularly inspired when flowers are actually coming up out of the ground. I recently came across a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The earth laughs in flowers". I love it so much I want to paint it on my walls!

The last few days have been perfect for pulling out some of my floral favorites, since it's officially spring and temperatures are finally in the 60s!  This pretty sweater/sweatshirt hybrid has been in heavy rotation lately since it's ridiculously comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. I can think of about a thousand ways to style this little number, but some light, ankle-skimming pants and a little bling has been the most versatile look so far. And oh hey, look! It's my Madewell Transporter Tote again. My trusty leather carryall will always be by my side.

Rainy Day Rescue

Well, it rained and rained and rained some more this weekend. But great news: it was still a fantastic weekend because I had a few tricks up my sleeve for enjoying a drizzly day.

1.) Fresh Flowers! What could be better than the brightest marigold sunflowers jazzing up a gray day?

2.) Classic chocolate chip cookies - I spent a little time relaxing in the kitchen baking up these bad boys while listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. You can't beat that!

3.) New wall art - We've spent well over a year in our current apartment and just couldn't find the right prints to spice up our living room, but we recently created these killer canvases from photos we took in Santa Monica last year and LOVE the way they steal the show!

4.) The Perfect Polish - It's an oldie, but good and a glossy coat of this Essie Chinchilly can really spruce you right up!

5.) And last but certainly not least, my big brother drove over the mountains to come visit me! We went to the Starbucks Reserve Tasting Room - a favorite of ours AND ate burgers at the  Lunchbox Laboratory because duh, delicious.
